The workplace is a marathon, not a sprint

Studies show that practices developed for winning athletes can also be applied in the business environment. We can apply the wisdom of sport to help us succeed in the workplace. Like an athlete, it involves regular training and practice; setting and meeting goals; having good systems in place and a strong and healthy mindset.

We know that the modern way of working is like a marathon, not a sprint – even if it feels like that sometimes! The Work Savvy Programme uses the idea of a workplace athlete to talk about success in the workplace. Like an athlete, it involves regular training and practice, meeting goals, having good systems in place and a strong and healthy mindset.

The Work Savvy programme takes four months and covers the building blocks of workplace success which help professionals learn to lead themselves and others. It uses a mix of online learning, workshops with experts and peer coaching as part of a select cohort.

What does the Work Savvy programme cover?

At Savvy Up, we are leadership, organisational and behavioural change experts. We draw on a wide range of research-based learning literature and personal experience to help participants learn the self-management and self-leadership skills needed for success in the workplace.

From better dealing with challenges to improved communication skills, this programme will help your employees to be the best version of themselves in the workplace.

Over four months of fortnightly workshops and peer coaching sessions, we cover key emotional skills, attitudes and success behaviours such as effective time management, improving work-life balance and communicating well across generations. Four months gives enough time to practice and embed habits and behaviours within a supportive environment. As one of our recent cohorts said, "I could've used a whole year of this programme!"

Who should take part?

Work Savvy is for professionals and emerging leaders who want professional development to step up to the next level. As past participants have noted, those who are ready to make positive changes in their professional and personal lives will reap the most benefit from this programme.
